Police Probe: Man Allegedly Films Minor in Dressing Room at The Shops at La Cantera

San Antonio family alleges that a man covertly filmed their 14-year-old daughter inside a Forever 21 store dressing room. The incident, which occurred on Friday afternoon during a back-to-school shopping spree, has prompted an investigation by the San Antonio Police who are currently searching for the unidentified suspect.

According to the family’s attorney, Adam Cortez, the teenage girl stumbled upon a cellphone placed on top of a pair of jeans in the dressing room stall. Sensing something amiss, she took a photograph of the scene and immediately contacted her mother to express her concerns about potential unauthorized filming. The situation escalated as the individual allegedly moved the jeans and phone to another stall, revealing that the phone was in recording mode. In a courageous act, the girl swiftly alerted another young girl whom she believed the suspect was attempting to film. Despite her distress during the incident, the girl managed to capture additional photographs as evidence.

Cortez emphasized the significance of the girl’s actions, remarking, “I’m glad that she had the courage to do that, even though she was going through, you know, such an emotional ordeal.” The family promptly notified the police; however, upon their arrival, the suspect had already fled the scene. Currently, law enforcement is actively searching for the individual depicted in the photos, although no confirmation has been made regarding his identity as the suspect.

While awaiting a response from Forever 21 regarding the incident, KENS 5 reached out to The Shops at La Cantera, where the store is located. The incident was not initially reported to their security or management, but they have now initiated an inquiry into the claims. Cortez is advocating for the family’s story to be shared widely, not only to aid in the identification and apprehension of the suspect, but also to alert other parents about the potential dangers this crime presents.

Cortez described the suspect as “fearless,” noting that even after being deterred from filming one young lady, he moved on to target another. He stressed the importance of law enforcement instilling a sense of fear within the suspect to prevent future harm. As the investigation unfolds, the family remains hopeful that the authorities will swiftly take action to ensure the safety of their community.
