Police: Man shot in face during altercation
In a recent incident on the west side of town, a man was discovered with a gunshot wound to the face, allegedly following an altercation with two other individuals. San Antonio Police promptly responded to the scene at the 5600 block of Culebra Road near Callaghan Road, after receiving reports of an ongoing shooting around 2 a.m. on Sunday.
Upon arriving at the Westway apartments, law enforcement officers encountered a man who had sustained a gunshot wound to the face. According to the police, an argument had transpired involving two men and one woman. During the heated exchange, one of the men brandished a weapon and shot the other man in the face, resulting in critical injuries.
Noticing a vehicle hastily departing from the vicinity upon their arrival, the San Antonio Police Department pursued the car and successfully apprehended the driver, whom they believe to be the suspect responsible for the shooting. Fortunately, no other injuries were reported in connection with this incident.
The victim was immediately transported to University Hospital in critical condition, where medical professionals are attending to his injuries.
