Police: Man shot dead in Galveston late Friday night

The police have not identified the victim. Police said they were investigating the shooting.

GALVESTON, Texas. A man was shot dead in Galveston late Friday night, police said.

Officers were sent to 39th Street near Sealy Avenue shortly before midnight, where they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Galveston Police Department.

The GPD said officers immediately began life-saving efforts until the Galveston EMS arrived on the scene. The man was taken to an area hospital, where he later died.

The police have not identified the victim. Police said they were investigating the shooting.
