Police looking for suspect who robbed Franklin Square, North Valley Stream businesses

Squad 5 detectives are reporting details of a burglary that occurred on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 2:50 a.m. in Franklin Square.
According to detectives, an unidentified man smashed the front glass door of CardSmart, located at 326 Dogwood Avenue. The male subject entered the building and took an ATM machine, an unspecified amount of US dollars, a laptop, lottery tickets and several packs of cigarettes, after which he fled with scenes in a dark-colored SUV.
On Sunday, January 29, 2023 at 3:37 a.m., officers also responded to Quick Value Deli & Grocery, located at 1048 Franklin Avenue in North Valley Stream, about an attempted burglary. The injured man, 60 years old, who was at that time in the room, heard a loud bang from the front door. Approaching the front door, he saw that it was broken, and an unknown man was fleeing the scene on foot north along Franklin Avenue.
The subject of both of these incidents is described as a white male in his mid-40s with a goatee, glasses, a light colored hoodie, jeans and sneakers.
Detectives are asking anyone with information about the aforementioned incidents to contact the Nassau County Crime Squad at 1-800-244-TIPS or call 911. All callers will remain anonymous.
