Police looking for driver involved in fatal North Austin hit-and-run

Austin police are looking for a driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run in North Austin.

Police said on Tuesday, Feb. 28, officers responded to an accident between a car and a cyclist who was crossing a pedestrian crossing at the intersection of North Lamar Boulevard and Rutland Drive.

The cyclist died at the scene, but the driver did not stop and call 911, police said.

Authorities say the suspect vehicle may have been a white sedan that may have suffered recent damage from an accident.
