Police arrest suspect in January murder

TAMPA, Florida. Tampa police arrested a suspect in the mother’s murder in January.

On January 30, 2023, the mother was found dead next to the SUV with the baby sleeping inside. Officers were called to the scene around 10 p.m. where they found the victim dead with an upper body injury. The baby was not injured and is now in the care of a relative.

During the investigation, detectives identified Billy Adams as a suspect in the murder. Adams knew the victim and was recently acquitted of a double homicide in Hillsborough County, officials said.

Adams is charged with first-degree murder and the murder of an unborn child by injuring the mother.
