Police arrest 15-year-old boy and 18-year-old man who shot 8-year-old girl

FORT PIERCE, Florida. Two male suspects, aged 15 and 18, were arrested after an 8-year-old girl was wounded in a shootout.

The girl was rushed to St. Mary’s Hospital in West Palm Beach Friday night with non-life-threatening injuries and was said to be in stable condition, Fort Pierce spokeswoman April Lee said. No other injuries were reported.

Police responded to the shooting at approximately 6:15 p.m. in the 1200 block of Avenue O.

Investigators found that the victim and two other children were in the car. As other members of the family were getting into the car, the two suspects driving the white car fired shots at the occupied car and then fled the scene.

Fort Pierce police detectives and patrol officers found the suspects and the vehicle used in the shooting.

A 15-year-old boy and 18-year-old Tai Jere Reeves were arrested.

According to Li, this appears to be an isolated incident.
