Police: A 6-month-old Ohio twin who was at the AMBER Alert center in December has died

Police confirmed that 6-month-old Kyair Thomas was pronounced dead shortly before midnight on Saturday.

COLUMBUS, Ohio. One of the twin boys who became the focus of the statewide AMBER Alert last year has died.

Police confirmed to 10TV that 6-month-old Kyair Thomas was reported dead shortly before midnight on Saturday. Homicide detectives have responded to a call about an unresponsive child and are investigating his death.

Police said an autopsy would take place on Monday. Additional details about Ky’air’s death were not immediately available.

In December 2022, Kyair and his brother Cason were allegedly kidnapped from the Short North Arts District.

Police said the boys’ mother went to Donatos Pizza on North High Street to get a DoorDash order and left her car with the twins running and unlocked inside.

Nala Jackson, 24, was in the restaurant when her mother entered. According to police, Jackson left through the side door of the restaurant and got into his mother’s car.

Ky’air was found unharmed at Dayton International Airport hours after the kidnapping. A few days later, Cason was found safe in Indianapolis. Jackson was arrested and charged in connection with the kidnapping.
