Photos of two East Harlem gang murder suspects released
On Thursday, the NYPD released security footage of two suspects wanted in a gang-related murder case in East Harlem.
John DuBois, 25, was shot four times in the head around 10:15 p.m. Jan. 13 in front of E. 102nd St., which is part of the NYCHA Carver Houses. He died at the scene.
The victim had just left the apartment near where he was shot. Dubois lived in Brooklyn, but police say he was a member of the Bronx gang, the Mott Haven Gunnaz.
The shooting happened right under the window of a 14-year-old girl.
“Me and my mom heard it,” said the teenager, who did not wish to be identified. “My mom came into my room, opened the window and saw his body just lying on the ground, and we saw the police all around.”
The shooting shocked the girl.
“I never expected something like this to happen so close,” she said. “It’s just really scary.”
Anyone with information on the suspects is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be confidential.
