PG&E customers can apply for a $4,000 rebate on used electric vehicles.

OAKLAND, Calif. (KION-TV) — Pacific Gas and Electric announced the launch of its Used Electric Vehicle Rebate Program, which will provide qualified customers with up to $4,000 to purchase or lease a used electric vehicle.

PG&E electricity customers may qualify for a $1,000 or $4,000 rebate depending on household income. Those interested can apply here.

“This new rebate program addresses the continued growth of the used electric vehicle market with a focus on making electric vehicles more affordable for all customers in our service area. Affordability can be a barrier to EV adoption, and this program will help offset the costs for our customers who want to explore the possibilities of owning used EVs,” said Aaron August, PG&E vice president of partnerships and innovation.

The goal of the program is to allocate $78 million to promote electric vehicles and make electric vehicle ownership more affordable.
