Pedestrian hit in parking lot in Englewood
ENGLEWOOD, Florida. A pedestrian was hit by a car in the parking lot of a church in Englewood on Friday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol confirmed.
According to FHP, a pedestrian was standing in a parking lot at 3069 McCall Road when the driver of a parked Ford Mustang accidentally shifted into gear instead of reverse.
The Mustang went over the curb and collided with a pedestrian. The driver then continued to move forward and crashed into a building.
The pedestrian was seriously injured and was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
The driver and passenger of the car were not injured.
