Pear Therapy Prescription digital therapeutics reSET and reSET-O are available to five million Medicaid patients in Florida through the Preferred Medication List starting this month.

pears reSET, a mobile application used for substance abuse treatment, received FDA De Novo clearance in 2017. ReSET-O, a Boston-based company used to treat opioid use disorders, received a 510(k) approval in 2018.

“The unmet need for drug addiction in the US is huge, and Florida represents an important step in how we are helping more patients by working with states to secure access to our products,” Julia Strandberg, chief commercial officer of Pear Therapeutics, said in a statement. .

BIG TREND

In November, Pear signed a contract with The Wisconsin Department of Health will offer its reSET and reSET-O prescription digital therapeutics to participating providers in the state’s outpatient clinics, including programs that prescribe buprenorphine, a drug used to treat opioid addiction.

Earlier this month Spero Health announced that its 99 outpatient addiction treatment centers in Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia will have access to the reSET and reSET-O programs.

The company also received a contract from the California Department of Health to support the implementation of the pilot program. which provides motivational stimuli for people with stimulant use disorder.

The public company is not immune to the many layoffs that took place last summer in the digital health sector.

In July, Pear laid off about 25 of its employees, about 9% of its full-time employees, due to the broader economic environment and the need to restructure operations to narrow the focus of its short-term business.

The announcement of the dismissal appeared three months after Pear launched a program to offer its reSET and reSET-O offerings through telehealth providers. The first was Pursue Care, which specializes in the treatment of addictions.
