Paxton Letter to House Judiciary and Oversight Committees Calls for Action and Offers Support in Biden Border Crisis Investigation

Austin, Texas — Attorney General Paxton sent a letter to Representative Jim Jordan, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, and Representative James Comer, chairman of the House Oversight Committee, in support of the upcoming hearings of both committees to investigate the chaos. on our southern border, which was caused by the Biden administration.

From day one in office, Joe Biden and his open-border advocates in the federal government have done everything in their power to weaken America’s border security and undermine our national sovereignty. This administration has attempted to systematically revoke nearly every vital security measure at the disposal of the US, and the resultant lawlessness has had disastrous consequences for populations across the country.

The congressional hearings are aimed at investigating these actions and the role of the Biden administration in creating the current unprecedented surge in illegal immigration. In the letter, Attorney General Paxton is willing to help with the investigation and present the true extent of this crisis on the ground.

“There are no words that can fully convey the devastating impact that the Biden border crisis has had on American citizens, and Texans in particular. Rising violent crime rates, deteriorating public health systems, record high levels of border crossings and drug overdose deaths, and the empowerment of vile Mexican drug cartels and human traffickers are all direct consequences of this administration’s decision to abandon virtually all forms of border security.” Attorney General Paxton said. “My office has been at the forefront of stopping the Biden administration in this effort, and we will relentlessly continue to do so in every way possible. I fully support the judicial and oversight committees’ investigations into the border crisis and stand ready to help them bring to justice those who created it.”
