Participate in the E-Race waitlist during the annual Meal Miles

KONROE, TX – The 7th annual Miles for Meals 5K/10K Walk Run “Run to E-Race the Waitlist” is scheduled for Saturday, March 4 at the B-52 Brewery in Conroe. The event allows family, friends and community partners to improve the lives of seniors in their homes by supporting Meals on Wheels Montgomery County (MOWMC), whose mission is to deliver nutritious meals, provide transportation and care for local seniors in at home.

As this place is family friendly, strollers and leashed dogs are allowed. Walk, run and enjoy the morning at 5 km or 10 km if you need more than 10 km. The course passes through the Lake Forest Falls neighborhood in Conroe. Cross the finish line and enjoy the six-acre B-52 Brewing Company’s wooded beer garden, serving craft beer and serving food trucks before and after the race.

The race is limited to 800 participants, so register soon. Registered members receive gift bags, a T-shirt, a commemorative pint and 3 glasses of craft beer, homemade root beer or lemonade (subject to age restrictions). Everyone receives a finisher’s medal and prizes are awarded to the top three finishers in each age group. Register at www.mowmc.org/miles-for-meals-5k-10k/.

Each competitor will receive official chip time results immediately after the race. Rain or shine event!
The race starts promptly at 9:00, registration starts at 7:45. Parking spaces on the B-52 are limited, so plan ahead. Packages are available from the Meals on Wheels office at 111 South 2nd Street in Conroe on Thursday, March 2 from 12:00 pm to 5:30 pm and Friday, March 3 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Miles for Meals Miles hopes to raise enough funds to eliminate the waiting list for seniors who stay at home. Every year, the demand for services increases as baby boomers become older adults. MOWMC hopes to add 50 more seniors to the home food delivery service after fundraising.

“Miles for Meals 5K is always a fun, camaraderie experience and a good Saturday morning workout. We need the help of the community to make life better for seniors at home,” said Executive Director Summer Day. “Sign up now before it sells out.”

Sponsorship is still available at [email protected] or call (936) 756-5836.
