Paisley woman hit and killed while crossing Lake County road, FHP reports

LAKE COUNTY, Florida. – A 42-year-old Paisley woman was hit and killed Friday morning as she was crossing a Lake County road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident happened around 6:45 a.m. near the intersection of County Road 42 and Crooked Mile Road in Paisley, police said.

According to the crash report, the woman was walking west on Crooked Mile Road, crossing County Road 42, when she was hit by a Toyota Camry that was driving south on County Road 42.

The soldiers said that as the vehicle was approaching the intersection, the woman, who was not at the crosswalk, stepped onto the Camry road and was hit by the right front of the vehicle.

According to the report, the woman was taken to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Law enforcement agencies did not specify whether the driver or passenger of the car was injured.

The crash is still under investigation.
