Officials say Patchogue-Medford High School closed on Monday due to ‘potential threat’

Patchog Medford High School will be closed on Monday due to a “potential threat” the school district received on Sunday, officials said.

According to Patchog Medford School District Superintendent Dr. Donna Jones, the district received the unsubstantiated threat on the evening of March 12, noting that it was only addressed to Patchog Medford High School and no other schools in the district. district.

“While this threat is still unfounded, out of great care and after consultation with law enforcement, we have decided to close the high school campus,” Jones said, adding that additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

The Suffolk County Police Department is investigating the incident.
