SAFD says the fire started in a ground floor apartment that was listed as vacant but appeared to have been inhabited.

SAN ANTONIO — Investigators are still trying to figure out what started the fire at an apartment complex on the northwest side.

It happened at the 3400 block of Fredericksburg Road on Saturday night.

Fire brigades managed to stop the fire from spreading to other residences, but at least one family was forced to leave their homes due to smoke.
