Oakland police investigate 3 fatal shootings

Police said Friday night there were three shootings in Oakland that police called murders.

According to police, the first shooting occurred in the 7200 block of International Boulevard just after 7:45 p.m. Officers who were alerted by the gunshot detection system arrived at the scene after finding the victim with a gunshot wound, police said. Doctors tried to save the victim, but on the spot they pronounced him dead.

The second shooting took place in the 7000 block of International Boulevard just before 8:45 pm, police said. Officers found the victim with a gunshot wound, and despite medical attention from paramedics, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

According to police, the third shooting occurred in the 2400 block of 67th Avenue just after 10:30 p.m. Officers found the victim with a gunshot wound, and although they tried to save the victim, he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police will release the names of the victims as soon as their families are notified.

All three shootings are being investigated by the Homicide Squad.
