O.J. Simpson’s Foreclosed Home in Miami Has Been Quietly Demolished
OJ Simpson’s longtime home in Miami, where he lived with his two youngest children after he was acquitted for the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson, has been quietly demolished, The Post has learned.
Simpson, 75, purchased a four-bedroom, four-bathroom property that spanned more than 4,100 square feet in 2000 for $575,000 — nearly $1 million today.
But after he was convicted of an armed robbery involving two sports memorabilia dealers in Las Vegas in 2008, the house was foreclosed four years later and Simpson was in jail.
JPMorgan Chase Bank seized the property in 2012 and then it was bought by investment firm Global Rental E&P for $513,000 in 2014, according to reports from a Miami-Dade real estate appraiser.
The house stood on a 1.65-acre gated lot that contained a guest house, swimming pool, and basketball court.
In the summer of 2022, the property was destroyed and put up for sale for $2.6 million.
The piece of land, located in the Killian area of Miami, remained on the market for months, at one point its value dropped to $1.9 million. But without any suggestions, the ad was removed last week.
It is likely that a new home will be built on the site before it is back on the market, or the land will be re-listed after interest rates come down.
The previous listing, surrounded by mature trees, notes that the site is ready for “custom build.”
“Great opportunity to own one of the largest pieces of land left for development in what is now West Pinecrest,” the listing adds.
At the time Simpson was buying the house, he revealed that it would need a major overhaul.
“I’ve lived in some pretty upmarket places – this place has a lot of downsides compared to them,” Simpson previously told the Miami Herald. “But the land is great and I’ve already met some of the neighbors.”
Simpson lived in this house with his son Justin and daughter Sydney when they were teenagers. Both were students of nearby prestigious Gulliver schools.
The Heisman Trophy winner lived there until he served his prison sentence in 2008.
On October 1, 2017, Simpson was approved for parole after serving nine years of his sentence.
The former NFL player was acquitted in 1995 of fatally stabbing his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman.
Simpson currently resides at the Canyon Gate Country Club golf course in Las Vegas, Nevada.
He previously expressed interest in returning to Florida.
