North Miami Police: Driverless SUV hits two children and an adult

NORTH MIAMI, Florida. (WSVN) – Two children and an adult were taken to hospital after an unattended SUV reversed into them, according to police.

On Tuesday night, the SUV could be seen on the sidewalk with crime scene tape surrounding it on Northeast Sixth Avenue between 123rd and 124th Streets in North Miami.

As of 10:00 p.m., the intersection remains closed as the investigation continues, but the SUV was seen being evacuated.

“The SUV was parked in front of the building. When the driver entered the store, for unknown reasons, the SUV rolled back and hit an adult and two minors,” said North Miami Police Detective Richard Torres. “No one has been charged at this time.”

At least one of the victims was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Despite the severity of the transport and the bloody scene, all the victims, according to the police, are in a stable condition.

It happened just after 7 p.m., police said, and units from the North Miami Police Force and Miami-Dade Fire and Rescue were sent to the scene.

The police have not yet identified those responsible for leaving the SUV unattended.
