New records set, others tied: High temperatures are being felt in Central Florida

ORLANDO, Florida. So what month is it? Temperatures in Central Florida on Friday felt more like mid-spring than late winter.

It was so warm that every reportable facility in Central Florida either set or broke a record as the temperature soared to nearly 90 degrees.

Next week could be even hotter. Highs are expected to be very close to 90 degrees on Wednesday and could even jump below 90 on Thursday and Friday.

Since 1892, Orlando International Airport has recorded temperatures of 90 degrees or more three times. The earliest occurrence of 90 degrees in Orlando occurred on February 15, 1935.

If the temperature in Central Florida hits 90 degrees next Thursday, it will be the second time on record.
