New host announced with KTRH Gardenline

CONROE, TX — Newstelk 740 KTRH iHeartMedia Houston announced today that Skip Richter will be the new host of “GardenLine” effective February 25th. “Garden Line” broadcasts from 6:00 to 10:00 on Saturdays and Sundays. Skip will appear at the Montgomery County Home and Outdoors Show on Saturday, March 4 at 11:30 a.m. at the Spring Success with Your Lawn and Garden workshop, and then from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. for an informal Q&A session about gardening. , give advice and communicate with GardenLine subscribers at the show.

Richter has served as a regional horticulturist for the National Horticultural Association in the Southeastern United States and is a contributing editor for the Texas Gardener. Richter is replacing longtime show host Randy Lemmon, who passed away unexpectedly earlier this year.

Richter received his Master of Horticulture from Texas A&M University and worked for 34 years with the Texas A&M Agricultural Extension Service in various counties across the state including Montgomery, Travis, Harris and most recently Brazos, where he currently serves as a county representative. In 2023, he received the County Extension Agent Award from the Texas Nursery and Landscape Association and was recently selected by the Board of Regents as a Regents Service Member for the Texas A&M University system.
