New Braunfels shooting incident, two teenagers arrested

Two teenagers face multiple charges following the New Braunfels shooting incident.

New Braunfels Police say officers were sent to the 200 block of Rhine Road around 7:50 p.m. Jan. 17 after reports of multiple shots.

When they arrived, they found two people who had been shot as they got out of the jeep.

Fortunately, none of them were injured in the shelling, but one woman was injured by glass fragments and was treated by ambulances.

Witnesses described a man wearing a black hoodie who fired and fled in a white car.

Officers spotted the vehicle and stopped traffic at the 1200 N block of I-35, where the teenagers were detained. They also found two pistols and illegal drugs.

The driver, identified as 19-year-old Antonio Baltasar III, along with a 15-year-old man, are currently charged with two counts: aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, illegal possession of a weapon, possession of a controlled substance (THC device). – PG 2 >=4 g <400 g), possession of a controlled substance (alprazolam - PG 3 <28 g) and possession of marijuana (<2 oz).

The incident is still under investigation and police say additional charges may be filed.
