Hamilton Police Investigate Serious Motorcycle Accident on Rt 130

Hamilton, NJ – In a tragic incident that occurred on October 8, 2023, at approximately 9:45 a.m., a collision between a 2013 Lexus SUV and a 2018 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle took place on Rt 130 near Marketplace Blvd Extension. The driver of the Lexus, a 55-year-old female from Columbus, NJ, and the motorcycle rider, a 23-year-old male from Ewing, NJ, were traveling northbound when the collision occurred. As a result of the impact, the motorcyclist was ejected from his vehicle and was propelled across the southbound lanes of Rt 130 before finally coming to a stop. The rider sustained severe bodily injuries and was immediately rushed to Capital Health Regional Medical Center at Fuld for medical treatment. Fortunately, the driver of the Lexus escaped unharmed.

To ensure the safety of all motorists, the southbound lanes of Rt 130 were temporarily closed to traffic with the assistance of the NJ State Department of Transportation (DOT). The closure lasted until approximately 12:45 p.m., when the roadway was reopened for normal use.

In respect for the privacy of the individuals involved, the names of the parties have been withheld pending family notification.
