Mother and baby bobcat discovered in Arizona residence successfully reunited and released.

A bobcat and her kitten have been reunited after they were discovered living in a Scottsdale home. The Arizona Game and Fish Department reported that the homeowner heard a noise in their attic and upon further investigation, found a baby bobcat. However, the mother bobcat was nowhere to be found at the time. Later in the day, the homeowner made another surprising discovery when they found the mother bobcat in their bathroom.

Game and Fish officers were called to the scene and found the mother bobcat peering out of the shower. Working together, they carefully captured and contained the wild animal. After ensuring that no other kittens were present in the attic, the officers safely reunited and released the mother and her kitten back into the wild.

Officials noted that recent damage to the homeowner’s roof provided the bobcats with access to the home. This incident marks another encounter with bobcats in residential areas, as earlier this year, an Arizona resident found a wild bobcat snuggling in a doggie bed after returning home from work. That bobcat had gained entrance through an unlocked doggie door and escaped before an officer could retrieve it.

Residents who encounter bobcats in their homes are encouraged to contact the Arizona Game and Fish Department at 623-236-7201. More information on living around Arizona’s bobcats can be found on their website.
