Monday changes to Harris County Civil and Criminal Courts
You can expect changes to the Harris County Courts in downtown Houston on Monday, Nov. 7.
The changes are because of the heavy congestion expected in downtown for the Houston Astros World Series victory parade and in accordance with the Court’s emergency closure policy.
Harris County Civil Courts
The Office of Court management says all civil court cases are canceled. This is due to the heavy congestion expected downtown for the Houston Astros World Series victory parade and in accordance with the Court’s emergency closure policy.
Canceled dockets will be rescheduled. To find your new date, monitor the Harris County Clerk’s website or contact your attorney or the court to which your case is assigned.
Harris County Criminal Courts
Most Harris County Criminal (misdemeanor) Courts at Law are canceling bond cases scheduled for Monday. The cancelations apply only to cases involving individuals who have been released on bond. Cases involving individuals who are in custody will be held as normal.
Harris County Criminal Court at Law No. 16 will proceed as planned with scheduled cases and trials.
Canceled bond dockets in the other 15 courts will be rescheduled. To find your new date, monitor the Harris County District Clerk’s website or contact your attorney or the court to which your case is assigned.
