Mom calls 911 after toddler gets head stuck in cake pan

A Pennsylvania mom and her 2-year-old daughter have to thank local firefighters after the toddler somehow got her head stuck in a cake pan.

Erin Meixel told FOX that she was working from home and in the same room with her daughter Quinnley on February 6 when she heard her say, “Mom, stuck! Mom, stuck!

It was then that she saw that Quinnley had pulled a pot of angel food over her head.

“She thought she could wear it like a hat,” Meiksel recalls.

Meiksel tried to pull out the pan, but it did not yield. Quinnley’s father was at work, so Meixel tried to call the local firefighters she knew. They didn’t answer. From there, she called the nearest fire department, but again without an answer.

Reluctantly, she called 911 and told the operator that it was not an emergency.

“She was sitting there eating M&Ms, drinking her non-spill mug and watching cartoons,” Meiksel said. “She lowered the pot so much that it looked like she was wearing a shawl.”

Much to Quinnley’s dismay, the cameraman called in a pair of Junction Fire Company firefighters to help cut the pot off the baby.

“After it was taken down, she was furious that she didn’t have that ‘hat’ anymore,” Meiksel said with a laugh.

“Now we can certainly laugh about it,” she said. “I can’t thank them enough for coming and helping. She went back to playing like nothing happened.”
