Missing Wild 94.9 Host: SP wife Natasha Yi releases statement after his disappearance

The wife of a popular Bay Area DJ released a statement on Wednesday, nearly a week after her husband disappeared.

Natasha Yee, host of Wild 94.9 and wife of JV, released the following statement on the station’s Instagram page on Wednesday evening:

“Thank you to our i-HeartRadio friends and family and listeners for your love, support and prayers. I feel your love and energy for SP and I am so grateful for that. The amount of compassion for physical torture SP has experienced over the past 2 years has been overwhelming.

I was so hurt and scared, and I know that all of you were also so scared and worried about the fate of JV. JV and I have always considered this community to be part of our family, so I want to let you know that personal information has recently come to light that leads us to believe that JV will not be returning. I tell you this with incredible pain and sadness in my heart.

SP is now officially missing, according to the SFPD, but there is no suspicion of his disappearance. We are incredibly grateful to the SFPD for their continued efforts to find the JV, and they asked us to keep the details for next of kin only. I know how painful it is for you to hear this – please know that I think of you.

Please forgive my silence during this time – my heart is completely broken and the pain seems unbearable. I will do my best to provide updates and I ask that you please keep JV in your thoughts and prayers. For any information that can help you find a JV, please call SFPD Help Desk at 514-575-4444 or send a text message to TIP411.”

JV hosts the morning show “The JV Show” on Wild 94.9 radio station.

“SP”, whose real name is Jeffrey Vandergrift, has been missing since last Thursday night, according to radio station and police reports. He was last seen at his home on the 200th block of King Street.

According to police, Vandergrift is 6 feet tall, weighs 180 pounds and is bald. He has brown eyes and several tattoos, including on his arms and above his right ear. He was last seen wearing black sweatpants.

Anyone who spots Vandergrift should call 911. People with information about his possible whereabouts are advised to call the police department’s hotline at 415-575-4444 or text TIP411 and start a text message with the SFPD.
