The Marin County Sheriff’s Office named Clinton Yoshio Koga, 39, the California man who went missing in Tomales Bay while kayaking.

Koga reportedly entered Tomales Bay in a kayak from Lawson’s Landing Campground to retrieve a crab cage after fishing with friends on January 27.

At about 6:29 p.m., Koga’s friend noticed that his kayak was not visible from the shore. He was reported missing to the Marin County Sheriff’s Office while his friends searched for him in the waters of the bay.

The intensive search was completed by several first responders, including the Marin County Fire Department, the Marin County Sheriff’s Office sUAS and dive teams, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office helicopter, and the US Coast Guard. The sheriff’s office said that despite active search efforts, the subject’s whereabouts could not be located and the search was suspended.
