Mini Hollywood in Texas? This DFW city is building a 72-acre studio.

The project, which has a starting cost of $70 million, will consist of “clusters” with soundstages and production facilities, hotels, restaurants, cafes and shops.

Along a dry patch of empty land, Mansfield Mayor Michael Evans sees potential for new growth.

“We’re in a garden corner of Texas,” Evans said, standing in the middle of 72 acres of undeveloped land along South 7.th Street and Easy Drive.

This is where the city will begin construction on Mansfield Super Studios in 2023.

The development of a movie studio that aims to attract streaming services will become a mini-Hollywood in Texas.

“This is where dreamers go,” Evans said. “It’s transforming the whole area. It’s movie magic, not just for Mansfield, but for the entire state of Texas.”

The project, which has a starting cost of $70 million, will consist of “clusters” with soundstages and production spaces, hotels, restaurants, cafes and retail space.

“You see opportunities,” Evans said, looking out over the open countryside.

According to the city, the project is designed for create 2000 jobs and dive into big business.

Super Studios CEO Angel Gracia, director of From Prada to Nada, oversees the development of the Mansfield studio.

“This is a film studio created by filmmakers for filmmakers,Gracia said.

Gracia told WFAA that he chose Mansfield as the location for his film studio because of its easy access to the airport and proximity to both city centers.

“The studio welcomes everyone,” Gracia said. – Like in that movie: everything and everything should be there, because you have the ability to create anything from drama, police shows, romantic comedies, award ceremonies. “It’s just a breeding ground for creative possibilities.”

The site will be able to shoot high-budget films and shows.

The city of Mansfield is optimistic about its potential after seeing how the film has become popular in nearby towns.

In Fort Worththe success of Taylor Sheridan’s popular shows Yellowstone and 1883 was a major boost to the local economy.

Since 2015, the film industry has injected nearly $600 million into Fort Worth’s economy, according to the Fort Worth Film Commission.

“You see hope,” Evans said.

He hopes Mansfield’s ordeal will end with a Hollywood finale.
