Military personnel say an Orlando man walking down a road near a theme park died after being hit by an SUV.

ORANGE COUNTY, Florida. A 22-year-old man from Orlando died after he was hit late Friday night while walking along a Central Florida boulevard near SeaWorld Orlando, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred at 10:41 p.m. as the SUV was driving east on Central Florida Boulevard, approaching International Drive on the outer left turn lane, the military said.

According to the accident report, the man was walking south on Central Florida Boulevard, rather than the marked crosswalk, and entered the straight path of the SUV. According to law enforcement officers, at that moment the SUV hit the man with its front end.

The man was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. According to law enforcement officers, the driver of the SUV and the passenger of the car were not injured and remained at the scene.
