Mild but Cloudy Saturday in Central Florida

ORLANDO, Florida. “The high pressure directly north of us over Georgia this morning will be heading northeast over the Carolinas by the end of the day. As the winds begin to reverse with a reverse flow from the ocean, some stratocumulus will begin to push through today, resulting in a mostly cloudy day for most.

Rain is possible, but heavy rain is not expected. Highs during the day will be in the range of 60 to 70, which is close to the norm for the end of January.

Cloudiness should ease tonight, but skies won’t be clear. An easterly breeze will create very mild temperatures, staying in the mid to 60s on the coast. The hinterland will also be moderate in the mid to 50s range.

Sunday starts warmer than previous mornings, with temperatures in the 50s and 60s. The coldest places will be north of Interstate 4. The high pressure keeps the area dry during the day and due to drier patterns. Sunday highs hit the mid to low 80s with the warmest spots in the hinterland. Clouds will increase throughout the day as humidity increases, but not enough to increase the chance of rain.

The big jump in our weather pattern comes on the Monday before our next weak front. A more steady southerly wind will increase the chance of fog on Monday mornings with awakening temperatures in the 60s.

As the front approaches, models show that it rapidly loses steam and breaks apart. As this front weakens, there is a 20-30% chance of rain on Monday and temperatures around 10 degrees or more above normal in the low to mid-80s range.

Even warmer weather will continue throughout the week, with highs remaining well above average from the mid-80s through Friday.
