Mets’ pitcher Max Scherzer buys elegant $5.4M Long Island home

Max Scherzer is hitting it out of the park with this newly purchased Long Island home.

Made up of five bedrooms and six bathrooms, Scherzer purchased the property, located in Brookville, for just less than its asking price, sources told The Post.

While the sale currently remains pending, it’s expected to close soon — between $5.2 to $5.3 million, the insider said, with Scherzer and his wife, Erica, set to move in come 2023.

A Hamptons-inspired residence, it was last listed for $5.4 million.

The move comes after Scherzer, 38, agreed to a three-year, $130 million contract with the New York Mets on Nov. 29 — considered one of the oldest players to reach a deal over $100 million.

The home was shown to have gone into contract on Oct. 24.

Situated on nearly 4 acres of land, features include expansive terraces, landscaped gardens with water features, a saltwater pool with a Jacuzzi, an outdoor shower and a separate pool house.

The main house boasts millwork and moldings, white oak flooring, a formal living room, plus an open-concept dining and entertaining room. There’s also a media room, an office, two primary suites, a game room, and a kitchen with Wolf and Gaggeneau appliances, the listing says.

Tara M. Fox and Lois Kirschenbaum with Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty hold the listing.

In 2020, Scherzer and his wife purchased an extravagant Jupiter, Florida estate for $9.75 million.

Made up of five bedrooms and nine bathrooms, the water front home spans over 7,770 square feet.
