MCTXSheriff Investigates Family Violence and Fatal Car Crash in Willis, TX

WILLIS, TX — On January 5, 2023, at 8:10 pm, Deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a residence off of Frontier Drive in Willis, TX, in reference to a family violence in progress.

While Deputies were en route, they received additional information that the female actor left the scene of the family violence call. Deputies were provided with a description of the vehicle which was subsequently located on Rogers Road. Deputies initiated a traffic stop and the female driver failed to yield at which time a brief pursuit began.

During the pursuit, the vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a tree in the 13400 block of Rogers Road, Willis Texas. Deputies immediately attempted life-saving measures, but unfortunately, the driver succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the vehicle has been identified as 52-year-old, Mandy Norris of Willis.

The husband of the deceased is uninjured and is cooperating.

The circumstances of the crash are being investigated jointly by the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. The family violence incident is being investigated by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Homicide and Violent Crimes Unit.
