Mayor Sylvester Turner, Houston Airports Delivers Checks to Local Advocacy Groups During Trafficking Prevention Month

HOUSTON — Houston Airports and Mayor Sylvester Turner teamed up Tuesday to hand out checks to local advocacy groups during Trafficking Month.

In November, Houston Airports announced that it would donate money from the event this month to three local advocacy groups. Presentations are due to start at 9:30.

Houston Airports is committed to supporting organizations that advocate for victims of human trafficking.

In November 2022, Houston Airports reportedly raised $30,000 in sponsorship for an anti-trafficking program that trained and empowered over 400 community members.

Houston Airports brought together mayors, law enforcement, bipartisan members of the US Congress, religious leaders, advocacy groups and victims of human trafficking to share their experiences and programs with the public, according to a press release.
