Man’s body found on canal bank

LOKSAHUTCHIE, Florida — A man was found dead on the banks of a canal in Loxahatchee, the Palm Beach County Fire and Rescue Department and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.

The agency said that at approximately 2:50 p.m., PBCFR units were sent to the 17000 block of North 50th Street in Loxahatchee in connection with an open water incident. One person was found unconscious on the canal bank and later pronounced dead.

PBSO spokeswoman Teri Barbera told WPTV that drowning was not suspected and a family member found the man floating in the water.
