Man wanted for threatening and robbing New York hotel employee in lobby: police

Police are looking for a man they say was robbed and threatened to shoot an employee in the lobby of a hotel in Brooklyn.

According to the NYPD, around 7:34 a.m. Monday, an unidentified man entered the lobby of the Hashtag Hotel on 98th Street and asked a 34-year-old woman working at the front desk questions about the hotel and whether he could use her mobile phone. .

The employee allegedly offered him a landline, but the man insisted on using her cell phone before showing the firearm, grabbing her hand and forcibly removing the ring from her finger.

Police say he then threatened to shoot her if she did not hand over her mobile phone, an iPhone 14, which he subsequently forcibly took from her hand.

According to police, the man fled on a black bicycle, as the woman received minor injuries after the incident. She refused medical assistance on the spot.

According to police, the stolen ring was worth $300 and the mobile phone was worth $900.

The person wanted in connection with the robbery is described as a thin man who was last seen wearing a black hoodie, white face mask, neon green travel vest, black pants and white Nike sneakers.
