Man Shot at New Smyrna Beach Boat Ramp; Police Seek Suspect

In a recent incident that occurred at a boat ramp in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, police are currently on the lookout for an unidentified man who allegedly discharged a firearm during an argument with another individual. The New Smyrna Beach Police Department issued a news release stating that the confrontation took place on Saturday evening and is actively seeking information to help identify the suspect.

According to reports, the victim informed law enforcement officials that while at the Swoope boat ramp on Boat Ramp Drive around 8:41 p.m., he became engaged in a verbal altercation with an unfamiliar male. The dispute purportedly began when the victim was accused of taking an excessive amount of time at the location.

Following the argument, the assailant reportedly seized a gun and aimed it in the direction of the victim before discharging a single round in their vicinity. Fortunately, no one was harmed as a result of the gunshot.

The victim proceeded to provide additional details to the police, disclosing that the perpetrator fled the scene in a lifted silver or white Ford F-150 truck, featuring distinctive LED lights within its wheel wells. Notably, the truck was also towing an unoccupied boat trailer at the time of the incident.

Law enforcement officials have discovered that the suspect had a boat on the water with an unidentified individual accompanying them during the occurrence. Consequently, both the truck and boat absconded in unknown directions.
