Man sentenced to life in prison on aggravated battery charges related to fatal shooting

WEST PALM BEACH, Florida. A Wellington man was sentenced to life in prison despite a jury finding him guilty of the lesser crime of first-degree murder with a gun.

District Judge Jeffrey Gillen on Thursday sentenced 40-year-old Robert Finney to the maximum sentence of life in prison for aggravated battery, plus 15 years for manslaughter and 15 years for shooting at a car.

On January 6, the jury found Finney guilty on three counts.

This was reported by the West Palm Beach police. Finney fatally shot Robert AnthonyA graduate of Royal Palm Beach High School, after Finney found him sitting in his car with Finney’s ex-wife, Rockeria Mills, on March 10, 2018. Boulevard in West Palm Beach.

Finney shot Mills, paralyzing her for life.

They married in 2016 when she was 18 but filed for divorce a few weeks before.

Finney was heard to say during the 911 call, “Why are you cheating on me?”
