Man killed, woman injured in attempted murder-suicide, St. Cloud police say

ST. CLOUD, Florida. A man was killed and a woman tried to kill herself at the St. Cloud apartment complex, police said at a briefing on Wednesday.

Police said they received an emergency call Wednesday afternoon from the Soleil Blu housing estate in Neptune Bay Circle from a neighbor who said a child had come to them and said their father was injured.

At the same time, police said they received a call from another woman who said she had received a text message from her father’s partner saying she had killed her husband and was about to take her own life.

The police broke into the apartment and said they found the man dead with multiple stab wounds. The trail of blood led police to a woman with lacerations to her wrists in the locked main bathroom, officers said. The woman was taken to the Osceola Regional Medical Center, where police said her condition had stabilized.

Chief Douglas Goerke said detectives are trying to get a search warrant for the apartment, but the department has had very “minimal” prior contact with the family.

Two children of primary school age who live in the house are currently under police supervision.

The identities of the man and woman have not been released.
