Man injured in Austin shooting; suspects sought by police

Austin Police Department is on the hunt for three suspects allegedly connected to a shooting that caused injury to a man in March. Despite a month-long search, law enforcement authorities are yet to make an arrest, and they are seeking the public’s help with any information about the incident.

The incident which took place on Wednesday, March 8, at approximately 1:14 a.m., left the victim with a gunshot wound to his leg. The event happened in the 3400 block of North I-35 service road. On arrival at the scene, police officers, and medics from ATCEMS rushed the victim to a local hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

According to Detective; from Austin PD Aggravated Assault Unit, the victim and another man were walking past when they ran into three suspects. The victim was shot when one of the suspects opened fire on them. Unfortunately, the police have no details or history on the suspects and appealed to the public for assistance.

It is believed that the suspects were traveling in a Chevrolet Silverado 2500 at the time of the incident. The vehicle’s last known location was heading north on the frontage road. Therefore, anyone who may have seen the suspects’ car or can provide helpful information regarding the suspects should contact the Austin Police Department’s Aggravated Assault Unit hotline at 512-974-4940.

Furthermore, the police are offering a $1,000 reward to anyone that has information leading to the arrest of the suspects. As such, it is advisable to call anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477.

The Austin PD Aggravated Assault Unit is asking for the public’s help to bring justice to the victim. It is imperative that anyone with useful information comes forward as this will aid the investigation and hopefully lead to an arrest.
