Man from Burlington, NJ facing attempted murder charges in Lawrence Township
Petar Armbruster III, a 54-year-old resident of Burlington, NJ, has been arrested and charged with multiple serious offenses including Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Crash with serious injuries. The arrest was made on July 11, 2023, in Lawrence Township, NJ.
The incident occurred on July 8, 2023, at around 5:08 p.m. In response to a report of a hit-and-run motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian, Lawrence Township Police officers arrived at the parking lot of Halo Farm in Lawrenceville, NJ. The victim was found at the scene with multiple injuries and was quickly transported to Capital Health System – Regional Medical Center. The victim’s condition is currently listed as serious.
According to the investigation conducted by the officers, Armbruster III and the victim had engaged in a verbal dispute near the 7-11 Store prior to the crash. The suspect then followed the victim and their girlfriend from the store to the parking lot of Halo Farm / Trenton Farmers Market. While in his car, Armbruster III drove at a high rate of speed towards the victim, striking them and narrowly missing the victim’s girlfriend. After the collision, Armbruster III fled the scene.
The arrest of Armbruster III was carried out by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office in the City of Trenton on July 11, 2023. He is currently being held at the Mercer County Correction Center, awaiting a Detention Hearing. The investigation involved the collaboration of various law enforcement agencies, including the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, and Trenton Police Department.
