Man fatally shot daughter and three others in Brevard County over strained relationship, sworn testimony reveals

BREWARD COUNTY, Florida. – A man charged with the fatal murder of his daughter, her grandmother and two others at their home in Brevard County early Wednesday morning told his roommate exactly what was to happen, according to an arrest warrant affidavit published in Thursday by the sheriff’s office.

Domenico Giganta, 36, faces four charges of first-degree murder in the shooting of 63-year-old Glenda May Tervillegar; Michael Andrew Watson, 36; Constance Marie Tervillegar, 35; and Kiara Tervillegar, 15.

A man called the sheriff’s office around 2 a.m. to report that his girlfriend’s two sons – aged 6 and 9 – had told him over the phone that their parents were dead, according to sworn statements. The man, who was the boyfriend of Constance Marie Tervillegar, arrived at the Alana Shepherd Avenue home to pick up the children before calling 911, the affidavit says.

The deputies said that Glenda May Tervillegar and Kiara Tervillegar were found in their beds, while Watson and Constance Marie Tervillegar were lying next to each other on the floor in the living room, where, according to sworn evidence, investigators noticed bloody footprints. All four were pronounced dead at the scene.

The deputies learned from a boyfriend that Gigante, the biological father of a 15-year-old girl, struggled to restore a relationship with her because she refused him. In doing so, deputies then responded to Gigante’s Rockledge address, reportedly finding him throwing items into a trash can, according to the sworn testimony.

The deputies contacted Gigante and his roommate, informing the former of their daughter’s death. According to the affidavit, Gigante agreed to follow the investigators to a secure building for further negotiations, re-entering the residence to obtain the keys. While Gigante was inside, aides said that Gigante’s roommate came outside and told them that he needed to be separated from the suspect after confronting him about his daughter’s death, asking, “Did you do that?”

Gigante replied that, according to the affidavit, he shot her three times.

The roommate added that Gigante around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, upset with his daughter and her family, allegedly stated, “I think I’ll go (there) and kill them all.”

Gigante was taken away by law enforcement because a roommate provided surveillance footage from their home, deputies said. It shows Gigante leaving the residence at 00:57 on Wednesday with what appeared to be a firearm in hand, returning less than an hour later at 1:41, MPs said.

Surveillance video from the victims’ community captured several instances of a vehicle matching the Giant’s in the area at this time, and footage obtained from an apartment building adjacent to the victims’ home shows the vehicle entering the victims’ driveway around 1:18 a.m., it said. in an affidavit. According to the deputies, at 1:21 a.m., the sound of several shots and a woman’s scream were recorded on the recording. According to the report, at 1:23 a.m., car lights were driving out from the house.

On this narrative, investigators based their recommendation for four counts of first-degree murder against Gigante.

At a press conference on Wednesday, Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey said the 36-year-old would be held in the county jail without bail.

Ivey added that Gigante had a previous relationship with Constance Marie Tervillegar and a history of violent crime, including animal cruelty and domestic violence, dating back to 2005.

“This man should never have been on our streets where he could hurt anyone,” Ivey said.
