Man dies after falling from 13th floor at construction site in Sarasota

SARASOTA COUNTY, Florida. The Sarasota Police Department is investigating a fatal fall at a Baiso construction site.

The 911 call was made around 10:30 am on February 15, 2023.

A preliminary investigation established that the man was drawing on the 18th floor from a platform that had fallen onto the fifth floor. The reason for the fall is unknown.

The man was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Investigators arrived at the scene and began questioning witnesses and examining evidence.

SPD believes it was an accident.
