Man charged with murder after January shooting that killed two people

Nicolas Lopez is charged with the murders of Javier Alvarez and Janelle Lopez.

SAN ANTONIO — After two people were killed in a shootout in the far west in January, a 49-year-old man has now been charged with murder.

Nicolas Lopez is charged with the murders of Javier Alvarez and Janelle Lopez. They were found to have multiple gunshot wounds; Alvarez next to the car and Lopez inside the car.

This happened before 21:30 on Friday in the 6900 quarter on Calle Fincias.

The authorities found dozens of shell casings on the street and in the entrance. Two different types of shell casings have been found.

A witness told police about the incident, saying that they were in the backyard when gunfire rang out. The owner of the house is Lopez.

The witness ran to the front of the house, where they witnessed Lopez reportedly fire a rifle and then a pistol at the side of the car. Another man also fired two different pistols at the rear of the car. After that, the witness left the house.

Lopez was arrested and his bail is set at $1 million.
