Man arrested after fatal 79th Street bridge collapse to face trial

MIAMI (WSVN). A man who was involved in a chaotic accident on a bridge in Miami, first appeared in court in connection with a deadly accident.

Dionisio Castro appeared in bond court on Saturday afternoon. He faces a long list of charges, including manslaughter while driving under the influence and driving without a valid license.

A 30-year-old man was in the hospital recovering from an accident on February 8.

Castro was arrested the day after he was involved in a chaotic crash on the Northeast 79th Street Bridge that connects Miami and North Bay Village, police said.

Police said Castro was speeding and when he crashed into the median, the impact sent him flying into oncoming traffic.

A woman was killed in the crash and three others were injured.
