Madonna says, “Express yourself.” Song Yoon Wan agrees

On February 11, designer Song Jung Wan’s eponymous brand – one of South Korea’s leading fashion businesses – took center stage at Spring Studios, a coveted venue for any designer. 90s. A flyer on every seat proclaimed the intention of her collection, which Son described as celebrating “an ironic attempt at the quintessence of ’90s fashion trends with futuristic elements and finished with glamour.”

The opening of the show epitomized this mood, opening with a soft dress, pink faux fur sleeves, gold sequined shorts, and Madonna’s voice echoing through the speaker. All the light of New York flooded into the studio, and the gallery was filled with orange light.

Apricot Juice and Galactic Cobalt—some of the colors on display—shone so brightly that they dazzled camera lenses as each model sauntered forward and stared out at the crowd. Even though their colors were bold, the details were not exaggerated. There was something understated about the pairing of the edgy color and fitted cut paired with black and white pumps – a unifying design element.

The pieces that undeniably matched Son’s minimalist heritage were the final nine. Cream coats, black skirts and white sleeveless dresses, despite their simplicity, looked the most impressive.

“It’s the perfect mix of very current, yet still beautiful and chic,” said actress and model Brooke Shields. – And this is not easy to do.

Backstage, wearing pearl earrings and a shirt with her name written around the hem, Son was smiling all over. A “NO SOCIAL NETWORKING” sign hung in a quiet room, which ensured that all eyes were on the designer’s tiny figure.

TTime was limited for an interview conducted by her translator, but after hearing a compliment about her newest collection, Song tilted her head forward.
