The 45-year-old man was on the sidewalk when a LYNX bus passed him, police said. The victim then ran after the bus onto the roadway to try and stop it, but the bus hit the man from the front on the right and continued on.

The man died on the spot.

The driver, a 61-year-old man, did not see the victim on the sidewalk as the bus passed and did not know he had hit anyone as he left the area, police said.

The crash is still under investigation.
