Longtime Clear Creek ISD teacher killed by son outside League City home, police say

LEAGUE CITY, Texas – A man was taken into custody after he killed his father, an ISD teacher in Clear Creek, and then broke into a house while trying to escape the police in League City.

Nicholas Robert Ligio is charged with the murder of his father David Ligio. He is also charged with burglary of the building.

League City Police Department officers were sent to the 200 block of Wood Hollow Drive near South Shore Boulevard around 5:15 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers found a 66-year-old man, later identified as David Liggio, with obvious neck injuries, investigators said.

The officers then witnessed Nicolas Ligio running into the house and locking the door from the inside.

His father was dragged to a safer place where the officers could try to help him, but they could not save him.

Shortly thereafter, police found Nicholas in a garage on the 500 block of Millers Waters Lane, where he was taken into custody.

Police said Nicholas is currently being held on $180,000 bail.
