Local theater students received an award at the Children’s Theater Festival “West”

LEE COUNTY, Florida. Local students from the Fort Myers Theater received the Freddie G Inspiration Award at the 2023 Western Youth Theater Festival.

The festival is dedicated to rewarding and celebrating student musical theater programs. The award is given to a group that touches the hearts of the audience in a special way.

Each group performs a 15-minute clip from the musical Broadway Junior. The Fort Myers Theater presented excerpts from Disney News Jr. One critic even said that the performance brought a smile to their faces.

The Fort Myers Theater offers instruction for all ages so students can learn, sing, dance and act. Theater builds these foundational skills in preparation for performance.

Students at For Myers Theaters are given the opportunity to express their creativity and self-expression through theatrical play, costume design, and fun and unique sets.
